Jankari Nepal – List of National Political parties of Nepal.
Although hundreds of political parties are registered in Nepal, but very few parties are included in the list of national level parties. In order to become a national political party, it is necessary to win at least 1 seat on the direct side throughout the country during the federal parliament elections. Also, there is a rule that only the party that gets 3 percent of the total votes cast on the proportional side will become a national party.
According to the Election Commission of Nepal, only these 7 Political parties in the country have received recognition as national parties.
1. Nepali Congress
On the basis of the 2079 federal parliament elections, the Nepali Congress has succeeded in becoming the first and largest political party in the country. Nepali Congress has won 55 seats on the direct side, while on the proportional side, it has succeeded in becoming a national party by getting more than 25 percent of the total votes.

Based on the federal parliament elections of 2079, the Rastriya Swatantra Pary Nepal has succeeded in becoming the fourth largest political party in the country. Although the Rastriya Swatantra Party Nepal won only 7 seats on the direct side, it became the fourth largest party in the country by getting very good votes on the proportional side. Rastriya Swatantra Pary Nepal has won only 7 seats on the direct side, while on the proportional side, it has succeeded in becoming a national party by getting more than 10.70 percent of the total votes.
5. Rastriya Prajatantra Party
Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal, which is in favor of making Nepal a Hindu nation, is also becoming the national Party of the country. Based on the federal parliament elections of 2079, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal has succeeded in becoming the fifth largest political party in the country. Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal has won 7 seats on the direct side, while on the proportional side, it has succeeded in becoming a national party by getting more than 5.7 percent of the total votes.
6. People’s Socialist Party Nepal (Rastriya Janata Party)
Based on the federal parliament election of 2079, People’s Socialist Party (Rastriya Janata Party Nepal) has succeeded in becoming the sixth largest political party in the country. Rastriya Janata Party has won 7 seats on the direct side, while on the proportional side, it has succeeded in becoming a national party by getting more than 4 percent of the total votes.
7. Janamat Party
Janamat Party of Nepal, which is in favor of Madhesh Muda, is also becoming the national Party of the country. Based on the federal parliament elections of 2079, the Janamat Party has succeeded in becoming the Seventh largest political party in the country. Janamat Party has won Only 1 seats on the direct side, while on the proportional side, it has succeeded in becoming a national party by getting more than 3.8 percent of the total votes.
