Career
Nikhil Upreti made his debut in the 2000 action thriller film ‘Pinjada’, where he performed stunts from a seven-story building without any major safety measures or big doubles. After that he acted in Nepali movies like ‘Shiv Shakti’, ‘Agnipath’, ‘Dhadkan’, ‘Papi Manav’, and its sequel, ‘Papi Manav 2’, ‘Abhimanyu’, ‘Hami Teen Bhai’, ‘Nikhil Dai’, ‘Savdhan’, and ‘Daag’, some of which are the highest grossing films in Nepali film history. His films ‘Papi Manav’ and ‘Humi Tin Bhai’ have set the record for the highest grossing films in Nepali cinema history and he has also won the National Best Actor Award.
After a gap of about 5-6 years from Nepali films, he made a comeback to the Nepali film industry in 2015 with ‘Bhairav’, which became his highest grossing film. After Bhairav, he acted in King (2016), Nirbhay (2017), Radhe (2017), Rudra (2017), Pinjra (2018), Commitment 60 Hours (2019). He was also honored with the National Civilian Golden Award in 2006. Upreti is an activist of humanitarianism, and has participated in various social activities and raised his voice for the humanities.
