Harka Sampang (हर्क साम्पाङ) is a Nepalese politician and the current mayor of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan city of Sunsari District of Nepal. Rai is also a social activist. His Full Name is Harka Raj Sampang Rai. He has been elected as an independent candidate for the post of Mayor, having ‘Lauro’ as the electoral symbol via the 2022 local election of Nepal.

Career:
After completing his higher education Harkaraj Sampang went to Malaysia and the other two countries abroad for employment. After working abroad for 6 years, he returned to Dharan and opened the National Unity Network against corruption and also he started to drive an auto-rickshaw.
In the 2019 Local election for the mayor of Dharan, Haraka Sampang Rai ran as an independent candidate but got only 422 votes. In the 2022 election as an independent candidate for the post of Dharan’s mayor, he was elected by getting 39.8% of the votes.
