February 07, 2024 – Nepal: The weather today in the Himalayan region will have snowfall.
Currently, the influence of the western wind is prevailing in Nepal. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there have been partial to general changes in weather conditions across the country. In some places of Gandaki, Lumbini, Bagmati, and Madhes provinces, there is light to moderate rainfall intermittently.
In the daytime, there have been partial to general changes in weather conditions in provinces such as Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim. The rest of the regions will generally remain clear. There is a possibility of intermittent light rainfall in some hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces as well as in some mountainous regions of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces. There is also a chance of light snowfall in some high mountainous and Himalayan regions of the country.
At night, there will be partial to general changes in weather conditions in hilly areas of the country, while the rest of the regions will generally remain clear. There is a possibility of intermittent light rainfall in some hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. There is also a chance of light snowfall in some high mountainous and Himalayan regions of the country.
Some places in Sudurpashchim and Karnali provinces, a few locations in Lumbini and Gandaki provinces, and some hilly areas of Bagmati and Koshi provinces may experience intermittent light rainfall. In some high mountainous and Himalayan regions of the country, there is a possibility of light snowfall. Due to these conditions, daily life, health, transportation, and air travel may be affected. The Department urges everyone to take necessary precautions and stay alert to cope with the situation, including keeping warm.
