Khadga prasad Sharma Oli Sharma Oli, popularly known as KP, is a prominent Nepali politician who served as the Prime Minister of Nepal. Political Career:

KP Sharma Oli started his political career in 1966 and joined Nepal Communist Party in February 1970. He was arrested in 1970 on charges of subversive activities and spent 14 years in prison from 1973 to 1987. After his release, he became a central member of the UML. And led the Lumbini zone till 1990.

After the popular movement of 1990, Oli was elected to Parliament in 1991 and later served as the head of the CPN (UML) Foreign Affairs Department in 1992. He became Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister in 2006. He was defeated in the Constituent Assembly elections of 2008. Oli was re-elected in 2013, and became the leader of the CPN-UML parliamentary party in 2014.

Oli became the Chairman of CPN-UML in July 2014 and was elected Prime Minister on October 11, 2015. He resigned on July 24, 2016 after losing support. Oli returned as Prime Minister on February 15, 2018, serving until July 13, 2021. On 15 July 2024, he was re-appointed Prime Minister with the support of the Nepali Congress.
